It was time to explore adventure and encourage fitness. Our NSS volunteers were on a trip of a lifetime as they learnt the nuances of being fit and healthy. Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, organized NSS Adventure Camp at ABVIMAS, Manali, for Chitkara University. The entire trip was headed by Pooja Dhiman, Program officer NSS, volunteers had wonderful time camping and enjoying the beauty of nature.

They learnt how to do some basic exercises, along with some advanced techniques like rappelling. The students hiked and enjoyed the scenic beauty around them learning team spirit at the camp. The motto of NSS “Not Me But You”, was maintained and followed by the students as it reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service.

NSS helps the students develop appreciation to other person’s point of view and also show consideration to other living beings. It was told to the students at the camp that in order to help others, it is vital to stay healthy yourself and the philosophy of the NSS is well doctrined in this motto, which underlines on the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole.

Students appreciated the efforts put in by the University in making the camp a success.
