Govt of Himachal Pradesh selects CUHP as official Incubator under CM Startup Scheme

Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh; is honoured to share the news that it has been selected as an official Incubator, under the CM Startup Scheme by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh; will be getting a grant of Rs 60 lakh to utilise for incubation development at the HP campus.

Dr. Varinder S Kanwar, Vice-Chancellor, CUHP; signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Director Industries at Shimla, on behalf of Chitkara University & Centre for Entrepreneurship, on September 28, 2019.

The Government of Himachal Pradesh has initiated “Chief Minister’s Startup/Innovation Projects/New Industries Scheme” in order to turn the educated youth from job seekers to job creator and in order to give support to the ‘Startup’ and ‘innovative projects’ in the state. The scheme envisages various incentives for start-ups so as to enable the entrepreneur’s success in their ventures. The basic objective of this scheme is the creation of self-employment and employment generation, upgrading the skills of entrepreneurs and to provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance, promotion of innovation in focus areas, setting up of incubation centres, creating working space for startups and innovative projects, providing incentives, etc. This Scheme also aims at helping and hand-holding entrepreneurs to select viable projects in the potential areas in the manufacturing and service sectors and train them to set up startups and subsequently manage and run their enterprises professionally.
