Chitkara University Shines at TiECON Chandigarh 2025
Chitkara University made a significant impact at TiECON Chandigarh 2025, one of North India’s largest entrepreneurial conclaves held on March 6-7, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. The university’s robust representation included the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development (CEED), Office of University Communications (OUC), Chitkara Innovation Incubation Foundation (CIIF), Global Office, and several innovative startups.
A highlight of the event was the keynote address by Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University. She addressed a distinguished gathering of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and academicians on the topic “Academia Boosting Entrepreneurship: A Blueprint for 21st Century Education.” Dr. Chitkara shared the university’s achievements in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, establishing industry partnerships, and initiating social impact projects. Her insights received immense appreciation from government officials, corporate leaders, and investors, underscoring the pivotal role of academia in nurturing entrepreneurship.
In addition to Dr. Chitkara’s address, prominent figures such as Sh. Tejveer Singh, IAS, acknowledged Chitkara University’s contributions in fostering a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation, significantly contributing to India’s startup revolution. Other dignitaries, including Sh. Amit Dhaka, IAS, and Ms. Seema Bansal, also lauded the university’s initiatives and its nurturing environment for young entrepreneurs.
Chitkara University-incubated startups showcased their groundbreaking solutions at the conclave, engaging with investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem enablers. The university’s dedication to entrepreneurship was further recognized with the “Pioneer Startup Ecosystem of the Year Award,” presented by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (STPI). Additionally, one of the university’s first-year student startups received the “Innovative Startup of the Year Award.” These accolades were felicitated by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, and the Director General of STPI India, Sh. Arvind Kumar, marking a moment of pride for the entire Chitkara University community.
TiECON Chandigarh 2025 witnessed the participation of established entrepreneurs, successful startups, aspiring entrepreneurs, companies, educational institutions, and celebrities. Notable figures such as Sh. Bhagwant Mann, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, and Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab, graced the event, sharing their insights and experiences.
