Chitkara University organizes CIPRST 2022

The Office of Patent Facilitation Licensing and Consultancy (OPFLC) in association with the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE) and Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS) had successfully organised a “Conference on Intellectual Property Rights in Science and Technology – CIPRST 2022” on April 18th, 2022 and April 19th, 2022 at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh. A total of 50 ideas were presented by participants in 4 technical sessions during the conference. The Guest of Honor in the inaugural function was Dr. Archana Mantri, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab.

The inaugural function of the conference was addressed by Dr. Varinder S. Kanwar, Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh; Dr. Manoj Manuja, Pro Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh and Dr. Pawan K. Paras, Registrar, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh. The keynote speakers for the event were Dr. Pushpinder Pal Singh, Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar; Dr. Sachin Ahuja, Chitkara University, Punjab and Madhulika Kapoor, Khurana & Khurana, Noida.

A panel discussion session was also conducted by the experts, Retd. (IFS) Aseem K Sharma, Chairperson, Chandigarh Chapter of Indian Society of Remote Sensing; Dr. Reet Kamal Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar; Dr. Vishakha Sood, Scientist, Institute of Technology, Ropar; Jagjit Kochar, Chief Managing Director, KBK Group, Chandigarh and Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu, Assistant Professor, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. The Chief Guest for the Valedictory function was Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University. She expressed her gratitude to all the keynote speakers for the session and thanked them for sharing their valuable insights.

Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS) was established in 1969 with the main objective of advancement and dissemination of remote sensing technology in the fields of mapping, planning and management of natural resources and environment by organising seminars/symposia and by publishing a monthly journal (JISRS), bulletins, proceedings, etc. Starting with 56 members, the Society has now grown into a premier professional body with membership of over 5854 members. Currently, ISRS is a member of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and Asian Association on Remote Sensing (AARS).
