Chitkara University in collaboration with MYAS organise National Integration Camp for Women at CUHP
Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is going to organise National Integration Camp for Women from 11-17 December 2016. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Chancellor Chitkara University along with Capt. Subash Chand, Regional Director, NSS Chandigarh. This Camp will be having best NSS practices of the region, Folk songs, Dance, Local handicraft, Regional Food and language.
Over 200 volunteers along with 35 NSS Program Officers from all across the nation are participating in the camp from Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruvantha Puram, Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, New Delhi and Bhopal.
The seven-day camp will have different kinds of activities and sessions by renowned personnels. To inculcate amongst the youth a feeling of communal harmony some of the exciting activities like Meditation sessions by Brahma Kumaris and Patanjali, Motivational Sessions by Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Dr. Varinder S Kanwar, Registrar, Chitkara University, Dr. S.N. Subba Rao eminent Social activist, VSM Retd. Brig. Dr. R.S. Grewal, Vice-chancellor, Chitkara University, personality development class by Dr. Arti Joshi and many more enthralling sessions.
In consideration of recent changes in the country a special session is added in the camp where personnel’s from Punjab National Bank will come and spread awareness on being cashless and digitisation of India.
The seven-day camp is planned in such a way that every day in the evening Sports competitions will be held zone wise where all the NSS contingents will group up and participate in these activities. Followed by sports is the demonstration of their tradition and culture through dance and music. The main aim behind planning such activities is that volunteers from different parts of India should experience pluralistic ethos of the country and interact with people of different religions, languages, customs and lifestyles. Unity in diversity is the real strength of our country, which is needed to be constantly strengthened and promoted.
The motto of Chitkara University in hosting the National Integration Camp is that our country has deep-rooted cultural values and University wanted to help youth to open up with varied cultural traditions and ethical values and promote national integration, inculcate the spirit of adventure and integrity among the students.
The entire camp is held under the stewardship of NSS head Dr. Sushil Kumar and NSS Program Officer Mrs. Pooja Dhiman. Dr. Sushil Kumar said through this camp at Chitkara University we have taken a challenge to achieve excellence in the field of national and social service, and to encourage young people to develop a sense of responsibility towards the community and thus to improve their own personal potential as good citizens.
