The University honored two leading feminists Ms Bano Pandita, a renowned personality of Punjabi theatre and a senior broadcaster, All India Radio, Chandigarh, and Ms Amrita Marwah, social activist, taekwondo coach, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2018.

They enthralled the students by sharing the beautiful journey of their lives and motivated them to act as spheres of influence and commit to taking actions to accelerate gender parity.

The two women are noted personalities and have been taken as a symbol of womanhood and strength. They stated that women in no way should ever consider themselves lesser than men. They should always strive for equality and their rights. They added that India is a male-dominant society but slowly times are changing and India has come a long way towards altering their mindsets towards women folk and women are no longer subjected to household chores and looking after their families. They are stepping out and making a mark in the outside world. The students learnt a great deal from these women and took inspiration from them.
