Agenda

Centre of Excellence for Sustainability, established at Chitkara University Himachal Pradesh, focuses on integrating sustainable practices, promoting research and innovation, and fostering education and community engagement. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a strategic framework guiding our commitment to addressing critical global challenges. Established by the United Nations in 2015, these 17 goals aim to eradicate poverty, protect our planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. Chitkara University is dedicated to integrating these goals into the core activities, focusing on areas such as quality education, health, gender equality, clean water, affordable & clean energy, economic growth, industry & innovation and climate action. Each SDG includes specific targets and indicators, enabling us to measure our progress and impact effectively. By embedding the SDGs into our curriculum, research initiatives, and community engagement efforts, we empower our students and faculty to contribute to a sustainable, equitable, and inclusive future. Our commitment extends beyond the campus, fostering partnerships with local communities, industries and global networks to drive collective action towards these critical objectives.

  • To align the University processes with 17 UN SDGs as per the University Vision and Mission.
  • To develop and implement the sustainability process within and beyond the Campus
  • To promote awareness through various programs to develop a culture of sustainability at all levels.
