Dr. Shankar S Aggarwal is a highly accomplished professional in the field of Computer Science, with a career spanning over 13 years. His career objective is to serve organizations to the best of his abilities and to become professionally trained to handle critical situations in the field of computer science. Dr. Aggarwal holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, India. He also has a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and M.Sc. in Computer Science (Software) from Kurukshetra University, Haryana, India. In addition to his academic qualifications, he is a “Wipro Certified Faculty” under the TalentNext Digital Skills Readiness Program. With a wealth of experience, Dr. Aggarwal has been working as an Assistant Professor at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, since December 2011. Prior to this, he gained experience as an Assistant Professor at SRM Global Institutes of Engineering and Technology and as the Head of Technical Trainer of CSE & IT with ICL GROUP OF COLLEGES. He has also worked as a corporate trainer with WIPRO. Dr. Aggarwal has made significant contributions to research with several publications in reputed journals, including SCIE and Scopus-indexed journals. His research areas include Computer Vision and Image Processing, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Medical Image Processing, and Pattern Recognition. He has presented his research findings at various reputed journals and conferences and has received global recognition for his work. Notably, his research work “Binary classification of COVID-19 CT images using CNN: COVID diagnosis using CT” has been officially listed on the WHO database for COVID-19, and another research work, “Computational Methods for Automated Analysis of Malaria Parasite Using Blood Smear Images: Recent Advances” has been officially listed in the National Library of Medicine (Official Website of the U.S. Government). Furthermore, Dr. Aggarwal has filed more than 20 patents, with some already published, showcasing his innovation and creativity. His patents cover a wide range of inventions.
To enhance his expertise, Dr. Aggarwal has actively participated in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and completed MOOC courses. He has a diverse skill set, including proficiency in programming languages like C Programming, C++, Java, Python, . Net, Data Structures,  Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Apart from his academic and research achievements, Dr. Aggarwal is actively involved in various activities within the university, including being a member of the Academic Council Committee, an editorial board member, and an active mentor for student mentoring programs. Dr. Shankar S Aggarwal’s educational journey is rooted in excellence. His dedication to learning, research, and innovation, coupled with his extensive teaching experience, make him a valuable asset to the academic community and the field of computer science.
